KE wants to put a question out to the intelligentsia that read this blog. Can any Attorneys provide a definition based on Michigan law of the terms listed below? Now let me preface this by saying KE neither confirms nor denies that these terms may happen to do something with a certain elected official and the charges he - or she may accrue next week based on reliable sources. Nor do they have to do with multiple counts in one of the categories. (heh, heh)
Perjury
Obstruction of Justice
Malfeasance in office (Or Official Misconduct)
Can someone explain how many years if convicted a person would get for each charge in Michigan and the chances of someone beating the rap if charged with all these counts simultaneously?
Inquiring minds want to know!

MCL 756.423 and 750.422 provide for a maximum sentence of 15 years on the obstruction of justice charge.
you forgot conspiracy and attempted conspiracy, perjury, obstruction, etc. Time to pile on.
sentences:
conspiracy to obstruct (MCL 750.157a(a)and MCL 750.505 = 5 yrs
obstuction (MCL 750.505) = 5 yrs.
misconduct = 1 year (MCL 767.4)

ok, kids, the real issue is not the charge per se, but the number of counts and whether Kwame serves his term consecutively or concurrently. I suspect Worthy will have about 3-6 counts of each offense so potentially, as a ballpark, Kwame is looking at north of 100 yrs. However, he won't do day one. He will plead to a serious of misdemeanors and get a suspended sentence with a large (north of $100k) fine. He will have to resign and surrender his law license.
Worthy does need to make sure Kwame surrenders his passport when he is arraigned since he likes to fly overseas to non-extradition countries.
